Sonex Intro's New Machined Angle Component Kit

Labor-Saving Upgrade Available Now

Prolific homebuilt aircraft manufacturer Sonex Aircraft, LLC announced Friday the introduction of a new labor-saving Sonex Aircraft Complete Airframe Kit Upgrade Option: Machined Angle Components.

Sonex says the Machined Angle Component Kit almost completely eliminates the need to fabricate parts from raw 6061-T6 aluminum angle extrusion, offering a significant reduction in Sonex Aircraft built time, thus saving the builder approximately 200 hours or more of construction time.

The Machined Angle Component Kit can be used in combination with the recently introduced Optional Pre-Assembled Main Wing Spars to offer a total build time reduction of approximately 200-300 hours.

“These two new Complete Airframe Kit options makes the entire family of easy to build Sonex Aircraft easier to build than ever before,” said Sonex Aircraft, LLC CEO Jeremy Monnett. “These CNC produced parts are manufactured with the highest quality and accuracy standards that all Sonex and AeroVee customers have become accustomed to. These part offerings continue the Sonex tradition of offering remarkable value per dollar while strictly maintaining compliance with the FAA’s Experimental Amateur-built “Major Portion” regulations.”

Machined Angle Component Kit upgrade prices range from $1,700 to $2,100, depending upon the model of Sonex Aircraft Complete Airframe Kit being purchased and the optional selection of the Pre-Assembled Main Wing Spar upgrade, which eliminates some part requirements from the Machined Angle Component Kit.

The standard Sonex Aircraft Complete Airframe Kit includes the Sonex Aircraft Aluminum Angle Bundle of extruded 6061-T6 aluminum angle stock for parts fabrication using a small wood-cutting band saw, drill and basic hand tools.

“No other aircraft manufacturer in the world delivers as much in a complete aircraft package for as little money as the Sonex, Waiex, and Xenos do,” said Monnett, “And for those looking to trade additional money for time, Sonex now offers opportunities for significant build time savings via the optional Pre-Assembled Main Wing Spar and Machined Angle Component kit upgrades.”
