Airborne 10.05.17: NetJets Betrayal?, DeLand Showcase, Death Valley Airstrips

Also: BRS C172/182 Parachutes, CAF, Arkansas Airstrip, Master Instructor, BAA Training-Avion Express, Reagan National, Boeing Donates

The Transportation and Infrastructure twitter feed has been a continual source of frustration to aviators all over the nation.

Day after day, week after week, the feed has made errant, insupportable and many say,  insufferable, statements supporting ATC Privatization... using 'facts' that are often errant, if not downright deceptive. It’s also been used by Representative Bill Shuster and his supporters to crow about the questionable support they've managed to coerce from a number of sources... This time, though, Shuster's minions announced that the embattled HR 2997 bill had just gotten a letter of support from fractional provider NetJets... which came as quite a shock... and barely believable. The 2nd annual DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase will take place November 2-4, 2017 and will mimic the inaugural show in design, layout, daily schedule, and hospitality. But most important, the mission and vision will remain the same: Committed to Sport Aviation. After a successful inaugural event last fall, the Sport Aviation Showcase team is poised to make this year’s event even more valuable for exhibitors and visitors alike. The Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) and the National Park Service (NPS) recently renewed their agreement addressing maintenance on the three airstrips in Death Valley National Park. Volunteers will perform maintenance on public airstrips at Furnace Creek, Stovepipe Wells, and Saline Valley. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
