Jazz Flight Attendants Ratify Labor Agreement

Contract Covering 820 FAs Had Been Finalized In August

Flight attendants flying with Jazz Aviation LP ('Jazz'), a subsidiary of Chorus Aviation Inc., have ratified their tentative agreement reached on August 27, 2015. The Canadian Flight Attendant Union (CFAU) represents approximately 820 flight attendants employed at Jazz.

"I'm incredibly pleased with this milestone," said Colin Copp, Chief Administrative Officer at Jazz. "There was a significant amount of effort put forward by all and I offer my thanks to the union executive, the flight attendant group and the negotiating teams."

The term of the agreement extends to December 31, 2025; consistent with our capacity purchase agreement (CPA) with Air Canada. The new collective agreement provides long-term labour stability, productivity enhancements and a transition to competitive labour costs.

Canadian Flight Attendant Union president Trevor Beattie told The Canadian Press that the deal makes Jazz more cost-competitive with other regional carriers, including WestJet Encore and those operating under Air Canada’s regional Express brand.

The union has agreed to a new entry-level wage, according to the report, and those currently working as FAs will receive two percent pay raises each year over the next 10 years.
