ComAv Supports Training For Aviation Careers

Teams With Area High Schools And Community College

Aviation leasing and maintenance company ComAv has partnered with local high schools in Victorville, CA, as well as the Victor Valley Community College to create “Aviation Pathways” to help prepare students for careers in aviation.

The Victorville Daily Press reports that the program will not only offer training and education to students who may be interested in aviation careers, but also to introduce the aviation industry to the local community in California’s high desert.

The program will develop apprenticeship programs through ComAv for both high school and college students. ComAv hopes to expand the program to include other aviation companies at Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA). The company will also participate in local community career-building events.  The interaction with area educators will give ComAv a better understanding of their needs and interests that will result in aviation-focused educational programs and provide hands-on experience.

The overall goal, said ComAv CEO Craig Garrick, is to “encourage more local students and community members to choose an aviation-based career path.
