Emergency AD (NZ CASA): Robinson Helicopter

Subject: R44 Series Helicopters, Fuel Control Unit Corrosion
Summary: This AD is prompted by two occurances in Australia and a further four occurrences in New Zealand of corrosion occurring inside the fuel control unit (FCU) due to the ingress of water from the air induction system. Corrosion of the fuel control unit internal components may cause the FCU to malfunction causing rough running, power loss and possible uncommanded engine shutdown. The check to determine if this fault is present on your aircraft is relatively quick to perform and in light of the serious consequences, this AD has been issued with a short compliance time.
