Yi Erida Drone To Be Unveiled At CES

Xiaomi Will Also Introduce New 4K+ Camera

Drones are going to be all the rage at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas beginning Thursday, with several new aircraft being unveiled to the public.

One of those will be the Yi Erida drone from Xiaomi, according to a report from betanews.com. The aircraft is a three-rotor design, rather than the more standard quadcopter, and the company says it packs a lot of punch. It is designed to fly for up to 40 minutes on a charge, and can reach speeds of up to 65 knots. It has a gimbaled camera mount for its Yi 4K camera for smooth video recording; Advanced radar and sensor systems; and manual camera controls.

The aircraft can be controlled with a mobile app, which the company says makes standard controllers "obsolete."

The company is also launching its upgraded Yi 4K+ camera, which will record 4K video at 60 fps, a first for any action camera, according to the report.

Pricing has not yet been announced.
