‘Air Racers 3D’ Hits Select IMAX Theatres

Wider Release Of Documentary About Reno Air Races Planned Over Next Two Years

A new theatrical release of Air Racers 3D from 3D Entertainment Distribution is now showing at select IMAX theaters. Narrated by late actor Paul Walker of Fast and the Furious fame, this is the first IMAX film about the Reno National Championship Air Races and provides an up-close look at the intensity of air racing through the eyes of then-rookie pilot Steve Hinton Jr. with his modified P-51 Mustang "Strega".

The movie is playing now at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida, and the National Infantry Museum in Columbus, Georgia. On May 25, select theaters like the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Lockheed IMAX Theatre in Washington, D.C., will have showings before the film rolls out in both 2D and 3D at domestic and international theaters over the coming 24 months.

The film's aerial photography was shot entirely in 3D at the 2009 and 2010 Reno National Championship Air Races and at Reno Stead Field Airport in 2011. Air Racers 3D is recommended for all ages.
