Two Fund-Raising Pros Join Embry-Riddle Advancement Team

Both Will Work To Raise Cash For University

Representatives with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University tell ANN the aviation college has added two seasoned professionals to its fund-raising team -- Bernadine Douglas and Christopher Lambert.

Douglas joins the university as assistant vice president for institutional advancement. She comes from the University of Central Florida, where, as director of development, she led all fund-raising and alumni programs for the Burnett College of Biomedical Sciences, now the UCF Medical School. During her six years at UCF, she managed annual fund programs, created a corporate engagement model for the university, and developed special events to identify and inform donors of major gifts.

At Embry-Riddle, Douglas assists the vice president of institutional advancement in preparing and implementing development programs. She directs the major gifts programs, formulates and implements strategic development objectives and operating plans, and establishes revenue targets.

"Bernadine brings a strong work ethic and understanding of how to work successfully in a complex organization," said Dan Montplaisir, vice president of institutional advancement. "We welcome the contribution she will make in expanding our ability and capacity for major gift fund raising."

Christopher Lambert joins the university as director of development. An experienced estate and trust planning attorney, he was previously vice president of private banking and wealth management at Fifth-Third Bank in Morgantown, WV, where he oversaw commercial and personal loans and deposits, and investment and trust accounts for one of the bank’s regions. Before that, he managed trusts, estate planning, and investments for three other banks in Maryland and West Virginia.

At Embry-Riddle, Lambert works with the development staff and university leadership to identify and cultivate donors and solicit annual fund and major gift donations from alumni, other individuals, and corporations in support of the university.

"Chris brings a strong professionalism and background in building relationships with those who want to make a difference with their investments," Montplaisir said. "He will focus on the Daytona Beach campus’s funding priorities and work closely with the College of Business as it moves into a new 14,000 square foot facility."
