Former Gulfstream Employee Charged With Embezzling

Attempted To Make Off With Over Eight Million Dollars From The Company

A former finance director for Gulfstream's Long Beach, CA and Las Vegas, NV operations has been charged with attempting to steal $8.5 million from the company.

Marvin Caukin of Calabasas, CA was being held without bail after appearing in federal court on charges of identity theft, money laundering, and mail fraud.

The Associated Press reports that the 66-year-old Caukin set up false companies with names that sounded like aerospace firms with the help of family members and friends. Those companies billed Gulfstream for services that were never provided. He used the money to finance a lavish lifestyle.

Caukin had spent nearly three years in federal prison on an embezzling charges ... having taken $2.4 million from USA Petroleum. He was fired by Gulfstream after it was discovered that he had lied on his application, stating that he had not been convicted of a felony in seven years.
