CASA Hopes To Spread The Word On Air Taxis

What Could They Mean To FL Aviation?

How best to cash in on the impending air taxi boom... and will there BE an air taxi boom? Those are the questions posed by the Consortium for Aviation System Advancement (CASA)... and to get the word out, the group told Aero-News this week they will hold a membership and information meeting on June 14, 2006 at the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa, Fort Myers, FL.

"Florida is the ideal location for the on demand, per seat air taxi service because of the many community airports in the state ," said Ray Wabler, Executive Director. "The potential for economic growth at these airports is one of the most positive forces in many years that will be available to non-commercial airport in the state."

CASA is spearheading research to gather information about airports who will benefit from service providers that will soon be flying in Florida.

The event will follow the Florida Aviation Trades Association’s 60th Annual Meeting and Trade Show, June 12 – 14, 2006 at the same location.

The CASA meeting will start with a luncheon at 12:30 PM followed by the membership meeting. The membership meeting is open to interested parties seeking information about CASA and NGATS and the economic development potential  as the new air taxi service becomes a reality.

Next Generation Air Transportation System, or NGATS, is the designation given to the new concept of how travel will change over the next decade.
