Midwest Aviation Conference and Tradeshow Coming January 7-8, 2006

On January 7th & 8th 2006 the Midwest Aviation Conference and Trade show will be hosting a wide variety of aviation celebrities representing the last fifty years of aviation history.

Mr. Scott Crossfield, X-15 test pilot and the first to successfully fly at Mach 2 and Mach 3, will join other nationally and regionally known aviation educators on the stage in the Busch Student Center, Saint Louis University Campus.

Saint Louis has a rich heritage in aviation. Early pioneers, the Spirit of Saint Louis and Charles Lindbergh, McDonnell Douglas, Boeing, great FAA support, and a very active General Aviation community, provides the foundation for a unique and talented aviation community. With this in mind, the Midwest Aviation Conference & Trade Show Inc. found St Louis to be an excellent site for aviation seminars, presentations, vendor booths, and awards ceremonies.

This year's event will offer something for everyone. Test pilots, airline captains, flight instructors, pilots, student pilots, and anyone interested in aviation will find much to enjoy at the 2006 MACTS. Some of the presentations open to the public include,

  • How to become a pilot
  • Aviation Weather Reporting
  • Flying companion course
  • MoDOT Aviation Department
  • Aviation Legislation
  • Accident Prevention
  • Aviation Maintenance
  • Aviation Safety
  • Flight Instructors Revalidation
  • WWII Triple ACE
  • Test Piloting from Props to Jets
  • FAA Safety Training

The 2006 MACTS will also host display booths for aircraft manufactures, aviation parts and maintenance suppliers, Civil Air Patrol, aviation insurance, FAA services, flight schools, and more.

At the Saturday evening banquet, awards will be presented for 2006 Saint Louis Flight Instructor of the Year, 2005 FAA Accident Prevention Counselor, James G. Byrnes Excellence in Aviation, New Flight Instructor Award, Flight Instructor Scholarships, Saint Louis Chapter of Women in Aviation International Scholarship & Award, and the FAA Master Pilot Wright Brothers Award for 50 active years in aviation.
