Sold: West Star Aviation

Bought Out By Wichita-Based Investors

West Star Aviation, one of the most well-respected FBOs in the country and one of the largest employers in Grand Junction, CO, has been sold to a group of investors based in Wichita.

The company that owns Premier Air Center, based in St. Louis, MO, signed a deal with West Star. The terms weren't disclosed.

But the deal apparently suits West Star President Bob Barry. "The group that's coming in is committed to the business and is committed to growing it," said he told the Rocky Mountain News. Barry plans to retire December 31st.

"Everybody keeps their jobs except me, and I'm retiring," said the 67-year old Barry.

Bob raspberry, who represented the investment group in talks with Barry will take over as president of West Star.
