Aero-Linx!
Scouring the information super airways can sometimes be a tough, if educational, task for the Aero-News staff... but it also allows us to check out some truly neat and exciting sites, so it's not that bad a gig. On any given day, we may check dozens (and often hundreds) of different sources for story ideas, and facts confirmation. And, as is the nature of our business, much of this is done on the Internet.
The ANN gang decided we probably shouldn't keep some of the neat sites, info resources, and organizations we've discovered to ourselves... so we decided to bring you Aero-Linx. These are the sites that WE check out -- when we need added perspective, a new spin on a day's topic... or just want to escape into cyber-aero-space for awhile.
Look for some of our favorite sites, coming each day to ANN via Aero-Linx. Suggestions for future Aero-Linx segments are always welcome, as well.
Aero Linx: The Aerostar Owners Association
The Aerostar Owners Association offers the Aerostar Owner a unique opportunity to tap an invaluable source of information concerning the care and feeding of this fine airplane. The networking aspect alone is worth the cost of the membership dues of $200 per year ($225 for members outside the United States). You can make unlimited telephone calls to the AOA office and speak with a person completely knowledgeable in the operation of the various models and if the information is not readily available, every effort will be made to get the answer to the member as soon as possible. In addition, the Association keeps in touch with all it's members through its magazine The Aerostar Log, a full-color journal filled with information on Operating tips and techniques, Aviation Alerts, NTSB Reports, NASA Reports, Service Difficulty Reports, New products, Upgrades to the airplane, Refurbishing information, Technical Notes, Safety Issues, Training
information, Member comments and stories on the ususal and unusual missions of the airplane, and other important facts for the operator.
