Aircrew EASA Action Plan Conference Set For June

Focus Is On Agency's Action Plan Following Germanwings Flight 9525 Accident

EASA is organizing a conference for June 15-16 in Cologne, Germany to update the aviation community on the implementation of the Agency’s Action Plan with regards to the follow-up of the Germanwings Flight 9525 accident. At the Conference, EASA will also present in detail the concrete regulatory proposals and other measures that the Agency will issue in the second half of 2016.

A central part of the Agency’s Action Plan is a continuous dialogue with stakeholders. This Conference is a further important step in this process, following the “Aircrew Medical Fitness Workshop” in December 2015 and the subsequent consultation with the Agency’s Advisory Bodies on concept papers prepared by the Agency. The agenda has been structured so as to allow maximum interaction and input from the Conference participants on the Agency proposals.

Taking into account the results of these and other consultation steps, including the survey on the “2-persons-in-the-cockpit” recommendation, the Agency will present its proposed regulatory changes and other measures. The agenda has been structured so as to allow maximum interaction and input from the Conference participants on the Agency proposals.

The Conference is free of charge for registered participants, who will receive confirmation of participation. Registrations will be open until June 3 on a first come-first serve basis, due to limited room capacity.
