Air Lease Corporation Places One New Boeing 737 MAX 9 With Samoa Airways

Scheduled For Spring 2019 Delivery

Air Lease Corporation has placed a new Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft on long-term lease with Samoa Airways, the flag carrier airline of Samoa. The aircraft will feature two CFM LEAP-1B27 engines and is scheduled to deliver in Spring 2019 from ALC’s order book with Boeing.

“ALC is pleased to announce this Boeing 737 MAX 9 placement with new customer, Samoa Airways,” said Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation. “The 737 MAX 9 will enhance Samoa Airways’ signature experience in the air and contribute to the airline’s growing route network.”

“This will be the first new Boeing 737 MAX 9 in the South Pacific region and will operate a frequent schedule from Samoa to Australia and New Zealand,” said Matthew Stevens, Assistant Vice President of Air Lease Corporation.

“We are delighted to lease this new Boeing 737 MAX 9 jet from ALC for our flagship international routes, offering the most modern and economical aircraft for our airline,” said Alvin Tuala, Chief Executive Officer of Samoa Airways.
