Towed Banner With 'Typo' Flown Over Republican Rally In Ohio

The group that paid to have a banner flown over a Republican Rally over Powell, Ohio over the weekend may want to get its money back ... or at least a discount ... after a misspelled word was included in the message.

The banner read "America Is Better Then Birtherism." MoveOn.org, which paid for the ad, had wanted it to say "America Is Better THAN Birtherism." The banner flight was bought after the presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney made remarks he described as a joke about President Obama's birth certificate. The misspelling was reported by several conservative blogs and online sources including WND Online. (We won't go into whether "Birtherism" is actually a word, Ed.)

The Ohio rally was the first joint appearance for Romney and his VP pick Paul Ryan since Ryan was announced. It was also the last public event planned before the start of the GOP convention in Tampa, now slated to begin Tuesday due to Hurricane Isaac's presence in the Gulf of Mexico.
