Harris Corporation Debuts State-Of-The-Art Global Innovation

High-Tech Center Serves As Hub To Spark Innovative New Technologies

Harris Corporation on Tuesday unveiled the Harris Global Innovation Center – a state-of-the-art, interactive technology showcase.

Harris Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer William M. Brown opened the 23,000-square-foot center along with Florida Sen. Bill Nelson and Congressman Bill Posey, representatives from partner companies and local community leaders.

The high-tech center is part of a $150 million investment Harris has made over the past three years that created some of the most advanced facilities in Central Florida – including the Harris Technology Center in Palm Bay. Within this past year, the company also added more than 500 high-paying jobs in Central Florida, with many new-hires coming from Florida colleges and universities.

The Harris Global Innovation Center includes multi-media conference rooms, huddle spaces, an atrium café for employees and visitors, and exterior courtyards – all designed to facilitate collaboration.

At the heart of the center is an immersive and interactive experience area that includes stations where visitors can explore how technology informs, connects and protects customers. Highlights include a 20-by-7-foot interactive mural, which showcases how Harris technology touches millions of lives every day; a mission simulation movie highlighting how technology underpins customers’ missions and a wall of heroes, where warfighters and first responders share the vital role technology plays in lifesaving situations.

“We designed the Harris Global Innovation Center to inspire creative thinking and collaboration. It is a place for customers, partners and employees from around the world to meet, work and exchange ideas,” Brown said. “The center also will be accessible to organizations seeking to foster the next generation of innovators, serving as a place to inspire students and encourage them to consider careers in science, technology, engineering and math.”
