The Air National Guard Mobile Experience Returns

Takes The Public On A Journey Through Life In The Air Guard

The Air National Guard has brought back the Air National Guard Mobile Experience. The hands-on, immersive experience takes attendees on a journey through life in the Air Guard by letting them participate in simulated challenges that replicate real-life experiences of Air Guard men and women during Basic Military Training (BMT), technical training and on drill weekend.

Through simulation, attendees will learn how they can serve their country while maintaining a fulfilling civilian life, by serving one weekend a month and two weeks a year near their home. The Air National Guard Mobile Experience includes five separate touring vehicles that are designed to educate Americans about Air Guard's dual role in serving our nation and local communities. The touring vehicles will travel nationwide through November, and visit fairs, festivals, air shows, music and sports events, including Reebok Spartan and Lucas Oil Motocross races.

At the Air National Guard Mobile Experience a series of three challenges, each simulating real-life roles and skill sets of Air Guardsmen, are featured. Through these challenges, participants will be able to test their electronic, medical, mechanical, observational and spatial aptitudes, hone their surveillance skills, demonstrate physical strength and agility and test their responsiveness under pressure.

New to the tour this year, participants will also have the ability to customize their journey during technical training by participating in a challenge that matches a career field of interest to them. Challenges include a small arms weapon M-9 Challenge, Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Airstrike Challenge, Aircraft Maintenance Challenge and Medical Challenge. Then participants will visit an interactive uniform experience, where they can digitally view themselves wearing the Air Guard uniform from their chosen career field.

"The Air National Guard Mobile Experience returns this year with several new interactive engagements that give participants a look into the real-life experiences of Air Guard members. Through this journey, participants learn about over 200 available career fields in the Air Guard and how their individual skill sets and interests could be a good fit for a life in the Air Guard," said Senior Master Sergeant Angela Petri, Air National Guard Events Marketing Manager. "We want attendees to learn how they can serve their country and community while still maintaining their civilian life, and with the new interactive uniform experience, we provide a snapshot of what their future could be like in the Air Guard."

Also, debuting this year at Reebok Spartan and Lucas Oil Motocross races is the Air National Guard Mobile Experience Physical Challenge. The experience will test participants' strength and agility and make them feel as though they are in Basic Military Training as they race through a timed obstacle course completing box jumps, a cargo rope climb, pull-ups and a cliffhanger challenge. Participants must complete each obstacle correctly or incur a time penalty. Top finishers will be showcased on a leaderboard at each event.
