"I really don't understand what is the meaning of unsafe. We have never had a serious incident or accident, so I would like to ask back to the authorities what is the meaning of unsafe?"

Source: Captain Chawanit Chiamcharoenvut, executive vice-president of Bangkok-based Phuket Air, told the Associated Press. His carrier was blacklisted by the French on Monday. Together with Belgium, France blacklisted a dozen airlines based on safety concerns. Switzerland was set to issue its blacklist on Thursday. All this comes days before EU aviation authorities were to meet to discuss a European-wide blacklist of airlines considered too risky to fly.
