Communication Solution For Control, Telemetry And Video Or Payload Sharing
Airbus has integrated the SkyHopper PRO technology developed by Mobilicom into its Innovation Drone Platform.
AUVSI reports that Airbus is using the SkyHopper PRO Datalink to control mission-specific software and accessories. The SkyHopper PRO is a “communication solution” for control, telemetry and video or payload sharing to and from the UAS platform to the ground control systems and users, according to Mobilicom. The platform is used to broaden Airbus’ vision and demonstrate its mission operation solutions in the commercial and homeland security drone space.
The technology offers a “bi-directional Data Link” designed specifically for industrial and commercial UAS, including fleet management and autonomous operations. It utilizes leading wireless technologies, allowing it to deliver long range and Non-Line of Sight (N-LOS) communication that supports multiple transmission modes.
Additionally, SkyHopper PRO supports “Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint communication,” which allows several modes of operation such as communication for multi-UAS operations and UAS communication to multiple ground units and viewers (receivers).
“We are honored that Airbus, one of the world’s leading aeronautical corporations, has chosen Mobilicom's SkyHopper solution, and see this as a testimony to the quality of Mobilicom’s high-end technology and capabilities,” said Mobilicom’s CEO Oren Elkayam.
“Due to its high performance to price ratio, the SkyHopper PRO is a great fit for Airbus.”
