Rust-Preventing 'Engine-Saver' Intro'd

It is well known that the worst thing a pilot can do to an aircraft engine is to not run it. When ignored for months, moisture can develop inside the case and cylinders, leading to rust and serious damage from pitting.

Aircraft Spruce & Specialty has found a product that significantly reduces the potential harm from engine idleness. Appropriately called Engine Saver, the system produces a continuous supply of very low humidity air, even in traditionally humid environments, that is introduced to the inside of the engine via the breather tube. Slight pressure on the air passing into the engine keeps moist air outside of the engine, preventing condensation and water build up.

The dry air also flows past rings to protect the upper cylinders and valves. Powered by a 110v outlet, the Engine Saver requires no installation or FAA approval and works well with all piston engines. Any aircraft sitting on the ground for more than a month would benefit from the dry air infusion produced by an Engine Saver System. The Engine Saver is $185.
