‘Anything That Flies’ Is Fair Game for a New Paint Scheme
By Maria Morrison
If you are looking for a revival for your old airplane, or just want a new paint job, AirVenture is the perfect place to find it. Scheme Designers offers to design an innovative, original paint scheme for "anything that flies," says Janet Davidson, Director of Sales of paint and vinyl scheme designs, paint masks and vinyl decals.
When a customer wants a new paint scheme, they pay a flat fee and get access to the design software, a 3D representation of their chosen aircraft. The customer works with a professional designer, and together they design the scheme. "It's a team effort between the owners and designers... The designers will chat with the customer, see what they want, and then the designers come up with several different designs based on what they've talked about."
After that, finalizing of the design can take anywhere from weeks to years, depending on the customer.
Scheme Designers works worldwide, and offers paint schemes, vinyl, and vinyl replacements. Once the design is completed, it is sent to the customer as a PDF that includes the paint colors and exact measurements.
Founded in 1997, Scheme Designers now offers schemes for all aircraft, from general aviation to airliners. They cover whole lines of aircraft for Mooney, Piper, Huskey, and more. They also have designed the paint schemes for the AOPA sweepstakes airplanes since 1999. Scheme Designers has become the leader in paint schemes worldwide, and is the best choice for an exciting, unique paint scheme.
