Gone West: Airshow Pilot Brian Lecomber

Passed Away Last Thursday Following A Long Illness

British airshow pilot Brian Lecomber has gone west following what was described as a lengthy illness. Lecomber died last Thursday, according to the U.K. magazine Pilot, for which he wrote.

According to the report, Lecomber's career was at its height in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He flew with his award-winning Firebirds team which performed in Extra 300 airplanes.

He was also the published author of the novels "Turn Killer" and "Talk Down", and a contributor to Pilot. The magazine says his articles "inspired a new generation of flyers."

Lecomber is survived by his wife Joyce and his daughter Amy.
