Dashcam Captures Cessna 414 Bursting Into Flames In Mid-Air

Aircraft Impacted A House In Yorba Linda, CA, Fatally Injuring 5

Video from an automobile dashcam happened to capture the moment a Cessna 414A burst into flames in mid-air before impacting a house in Yorba Linda, CA. The pilot and four people inside the home were fatally injured.

The video was posted by television station KABC in Los Angeles. The footage provided to the station shows a fireball suddenly appearing and falling towards the ground.

The plane had departed from Fullerton Municipal Airport on Sunday at about 1:30 p.m. local time. The pilot flew the airplane about 10 miles before it burst into flames in mid flight.

Witnesses said that the people inside the house were at a Super Bowl party. Other people were seen running from the home after it was hit by wreckage from the airplane.

The NTSB will have an initial report on the accident most likely next week. A probable cause report could take a year or more.
