Triple Threat! Donaldson Scores Three STCs

Receives STC Approval For The Bell 407 IBF System From The JCAB

Donaldson Aerospace & Defense has received additional STC approvals for installation of its inlet barrier filter (IBF) system on helicopters in three countries.

Barrier filters are effective regardless of engine power setting, while inertial separators are only effective when they have adequate engine bleed air typically available above flight idle power setting.

Acquired at the request of the helicopters’ original equipment manufacturers, the approvals were received from the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau for the Bell 407, Indonesia’s Ministry of Civil Aviation for the Leonardo AW119, and Ecuador’s Civil Aviation Director General for the AS350.

Donaldson’s IBFs protect engines and help maintain strong performance by preventing particulates and contaminants, including very small diameter sand/ramp grit and salt spray, from damaging the turbine. Donaldson’s systems are currently used by operators worldwide in corporate, law enforcement, military, rescue, firefighting, and utility missions. Donaldson’s working partnership with the original equipment manufacturers provides a proof for the design, quality, and value Donaldson systems provide end users.
