Embraer Announces Additional Praetor 500, 600 Full Motion Simulator

FlightSafety International to Bring Sim Online in 2nd quarter of 2023, Bringing Total to 3

Demand for training in Embraer’s Praetor 500/600 jets has outpaced FlightSafety’s current pair of simulators, leading them to plan for the type’s growth by purchasing an additional unit for its Orlando, Florida location.

Placing the new FFS in the school’s Orlando facility will place it about an hour by ground from the Melbourne (Florida) headquarters of Embraer Executive Jets. The area is a good fit, given the high concentration of aircraft and operators. For those inbound for training, Florida is a fine sunny getaway with plenty of visitor infrastructure, with hotels, attractions, and a constant rotation of flights to ensure time is spent effectively.

“With Praetor jet deliveries increasing consistently, we have realized the need to offer additional capacity for training to our customers worldwide. The new full-flight simulator will provide Embraer’s customers with the latest technological aircraft updates, bringing the highest level of service to the market,” said Johann Bordais, President & CEO of Embraer Services & Support.

“FlightSafety is pleased to offer expanded capacity at a customer-centric location for the growing fleet of Praetor operators,” said Nate Speiser, FlightSafety’s Executive VP of Sales and Marketing. “FlightSafety has trained over 5,000 Praetor pilots since partnering with Embraer on this aircraft in 2015, and this program is a key element of our 33-year relationship with Embraer on aircrew training.”

Overall, the growth may prove to be outpaced, if the Praetor jets prove fast sellers. The midsize bizjets offer impressive range for their size, with 3,340 nm for the smaller 500, and 4,018 nm for the more premium Praetor 600. Modern flight decks and amenities make for a fashionable, comfortable, modern aircraft with a unified type rating between the two Praetor variants.
