Focus Is On Reducing Costs With Innovative Technologies
Embraer is holding the ninth
Maintenance Cost Workshop (MCW) this week in São José
dos Campos, Brazil. The event, which is targeted to those who
already operate or have ordered Embraer jets, focuses on reducing
maintenance costs and stimulates the exchange of ideas among
operators, suppliers, service centers, and Embraer.
“We welcome all of the participants who are contributing
to this forum,” said Maurício Aveiro, Embraer Vice
President, Customer Support and Services – Airline Market.
“MCW motivates an open discussion regarding the best
maintenance practices, in order to improve Embraer commercial jet
operations. This year, our meeting will emphasize cost
management.”
This year’s MCW will be attended by 26 customers and
operators. October 25 was Welcome Day for the clients of
Embraer’s E-Jets family, comprised of four commercial jets
with 70 to 122 seats. More than 600 E-Jets have been delivered
since March 2004. Panel discussions and working groups will be held
on Monday and Tuesday, where all participants will share
maintenance cost reduction opportunities and operational
experiences.
A special conference for the E-Jets and ERJ 145 families will
take place on October 28, focusing on innovation, new technologies,
and software for reducing maintenance outlays.

Simultaneously, the company will hold the first Airline Market
Embraer Authorized Service Center Forum, which is an opportunity to
discuss with these accredited facilities how to improve customer
support. The ERJ 145 family conference Thursday and Friday will
cover the same agenda as the E-Jets two-day event.
