Top AF Civilian Leader To Address Public And The Media
The Honorable Michael B. Donley, Secretary of the Air Force,
(pictured) will be kicking off the 2011 AFA Air Force
Breakfast Program Series as the guest speaker for the January
session. The AFA said in a news release Monday that the program is
scheduled for Wednesday, January 12, 2011, from 0700 to 0900 EST at
the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA.
The Air Force Breakfast Program is a monthly series that
provides a venue for senior Air Force and Department of Defense
leaders to communicate directly with the public and the
press.
As Secretary of the Air Force, Mr. Donley is responsible for
overseeing the organizing, supplying, equipping, servicing,
mobilizing and maintaining of the U.S. Air Force. Prior to becoming
USAF's top civilian leader, he served as the Director of
Administration and Management (DA&M). As the DA&M, Mr.
Donley was the principal staff assistant to Secretary Robert Gates
for Department of Defense (DoD) Organizational and Management
Planning. He was also responsible for Washington Headquarters
Services, a 1,300-employee, $1.3 billion Field Activity that
oversees management of the Pentagon, DoD leased space and DoD
administrative services within the National Capital Region; the
Pentagon Force Protection Agency, which is responsible for
Antiterrorism, Security and Law Enforcement; and the Pentagon
Renovation and Construction Program.
Mr. Donley has over 26 years of experience in the national
security community, including service in the Senate, White House
and the Pentagon. He also served in the United States Army from
1972 to 1975 with the XVIIIth Airborne Corps and 5th Special Forces
Group (Airborne).
