AMA Drone Report 04.05.18: Section 336 Attacked, FAI Drone Racing, New Hubsan

Also: FAA Re-Authorization, Pond5-DJI, Anti-Drone Device, Parrot Expands, Drone Assists SAR

There is yet another reason why YOUR support and membership in AMA is SO important. Part of the commercial drone industry has just attacked the rules under which we fly and the fight could get rather intense as we go forward... but take our word for it... AMA is ON it.

CDA’s rationale is pretty self-serving... “Basic ‘rules of the road’ are needed to manage all this new air traffic. That is why the Commercial Drone Alliance is (today) calling on Congress to repeal Section 336 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, and include new language in the 2018 FAA Reauthorization Act to enable the FAA to regulate UAS and the National Airspace in a common sense way.” A massive 24 World Cup contests are already registered on the FAI calendar for this third edition of the FAI Drone Racing World Cup, up from 16 last year and 9 in 2016. That makes the World Cup the biggest drone racing series around, and means lots more opportunities for both pilots and fans to enjoy the electrifying thrills of top-level drone racing. Hubsan has launched a high-quality, affordable drone option -- the H501A+. Hubsan's H501A+ model is the company's newest signature product and is available starting at $199. Hubsan offers a complete line of drones including FPV, Quadcopters, and racing drone versions for the drone enthusiast market -- sold directly through its website. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of the AMA Drone Report!!!
