FreeFlight Systems Extends Avail Performance Package

Now Includes Select Business Jets, Providing Legacy Aircraft A Complete ADS-B Solution

NextGen avionics leader FreeFlight Systems announced today that the Company’s Avail Performance Package is now available for legacy business jets. Included in the Avail for Jets package are dual 1090 Mode S/ES transponders, a RANGR-RX/G 978 ADS-B receiver with an internal WAAS/GPS, integrated WiFi, and a single control head. This certified avionics package provides a cost-effective and complete ADS-B solution that is ideal for Citation and Learjet operators.

"With new industry regulations, many aircraft owners and operators are forced to view aircraft built in 2012 or before as legacy aircraft. FreeFlight Systems recognizes that these aircraft have plenty of flight time and capabilities left in them, but lack options for cost-effective avionics solutions needed to fly in post-2020 airspace,” said Pete Ring, FreeFlight Systems’ Vice President, Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer. “The Avail for Jets package is ideal for Citation and Learjets, extending the useful life of these aircraft while also bringing them into the modern age of air traffic control.”

The FDL-1090-TX is one of the smallest Mode S/ES transponders available today - the unit can be mounted anywhere within the pressure vessel. The control head’s intuitive user interface features positive control knobs and push buttons for squawk codes designation, fault annunciation, and IDENT and VFR operations on the sunlight-readable, backlit LED display. It fits in a standard two-and-a-quarter inch instrument mounting, keeping panel disruption at a minimum.

The TSO-certified RANGR-RX/G serves as the compliant position source required for ADS-B and also provides pilots with critical ADS-B Flight Information Services Broadcast (FIS-B) and Traffic Information Services Broadcast (TIS-B) data, both modernizing the aircraft cockpit and drastically improving situational awareness. The RANGR-RX offers clients an installed solution that provides inflight ADS-B In information to a multitude of preferred MFDs, mobile EFBs, and tablet devices for viewing traffic and weather while inflight.

FreeFlight Systems is exhibiting at AEA’s national convention this week in Palm Springs.
