Becker Announces First Secure Wireless Intercom System Customer

Operates Up To Five Nautical Miles From The Aircraft

Becker Avionics has announced the sale of the first secure wireless intercom system (ICS) to Exploration Services LLC, a US customer. The PNG system by Axnes is capable of providing secure wireless intercom access to crew members. The elimination of the ICS chord allows crew members to move about the cabin without entangling passengers or cargo. The crew can seamlessly exit the aircraft to perform functions on the ground whether it is maintenance inspections of the aircraft or search and rescue efforts up to five nautical miles away from the aircraft.

The Axnes PNG system is waterproof and lends itself to operations such as search and rescue customers and those deploying rescue swimmers. The display on the system is NVG compatible which is perfect for customers using NVGs to enhance the safety of their nighttime operations.

The system has the capability through GPS position reporting of allowing the airborne crew to maintain continuous electronic surveillance of the location of any crew member operating outside of the aircraft. The system will display the location of a crew member performing duties outside the aircraft on the aircraft's moving map display. This feature allows the aircraft to deploy a rescue swimmer or other crew member in any environment and then return directly to the crew member to affect the rescue or pick up crew or cargo.

Becker Avionics will showcase their products during the Helicopter Association International show held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky, March 1-3.
