Flying car manufacturer Samson Sky rang in the new year with a new round of crowdfunding through Wefunder, hoping to drum up additional cash to expand their production facilities as they make the jump to an entirely different material. Samson Sky calls their shot before swinging, saying "if this were like any other kit aircraft, and we only needed to produce kits sufficient for maybe 300 per year, things would be different." AeroVironment Completes Multi-Drop Shryke Munitions Test

AeroVironment completed a multi-drop, live fire exercise using guided Shryke munitions, proving the fighting capability of their VAPOR 55 MX UAV. The little drone fired off a handful of 4 missiles, each one delivering a 40mm anti-armor warhead. The Shryke pseudo-missiles offer a low signature, lightweight munition to mission planners, using glide performance to maneuver themselves to the target sans the heat and racket a traditional missile motor would create. That makes the entire ensemble a "highly effective, low-collateral damage solution to the front lines" according to Shryke's manufacturer Corvid.

SkyDrive incorporated has seen a new Series C funding round through a 3rd-party allotment of shares to Suzuki Motor Corporation, refilling the coffers to keep development going. SkyDrive and Suzuki made a journey to the "Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024", running from January 9th to the 13th in Gujarat, India. The trade show is supposed to be one of the largest exhibitions in the world with 'Cutting-Edge Technology', making it a fine place for the eastern eVTOL manufacturer to show off its wares. The Experimental Aviation Association has published this year's Airshow roster for AirVenture 2024, showing off the planes and performers of both the afternoon and nightly spectacles. The 71st iteration of the EAA's flagship fly-in will run from July 22nd to the 28th at Wittman Regional Airport, as usual, and will feature a total of 9 air shows throughout the 7-day span. Nightly shows cap off the 24th and 27th, adding additional ticket value.

NTSB Prelim: Hawker Beechcraft Corp G36 (Witness) Observed The Airplane Flying

(Witness) Observed The Airplane Flying Low Over The Water From West To East

On December 21, 2023, about 1714 Eastern Standard Time, a Hawker Beechcraft Corp. G36 (File photo, below) airplane, N23VS, was destroyed when it impacted terrain near Buford, Georgia. The private pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated by the pilot as a personal flight conducted under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91. According to the pilot’s family, the airplane was based at Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK), Atlanta, Georgia, and the purpose of flight was to perform a local flight in the area.
