B-25 Mitchell Rides Available on Berlin Express During EAA Summer Tour

This summer, history enthusiasts will have a unique opportunity to experience World War II aviation as the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) launches a nationwide tour with its restored B-25 Mitchell bomber, known as the "Berlin Express." The tour will make several stops across the United States, offering an immersive flying experience aboard a genuine piece of World War II history. The Berlin Express will begin its journey at the TBM Avenger Reunion in Peru, Illinois, from May 16-19, before moving on to other locations including Cincinnati, Ohio; Olathe, Kansas; Rockford, Illinois; and Madison, Wisconsin.

USCG MH-65 Dolphin Helicopters Retired

After 36 years of dedicated service to Alaska's Arctic region, the Coast Guard's MH-65 Dolphin helicopters were officially retired in a ceremony at Air Station Kodiak. The event marked the end of an era for the venerable aircraft known for its reliability and crucial role in search and rescue operations across one of the most remote parts of the United States. The ceremony, led by Capt. Timothy Williams, the commanding officer of Air Station Kodiak, celebrated the achievements and the critical missions carried out by the Dolphin fleet and its crews.

Textron Makes Good on Next-Gen Training Twin

Textron's 1st delivery of the Beechcraft T-54 Multi-Engine Training System has been made, handing over the first pair of up to 64 aircraft to the US Navy. The aircraft is, at its core, a King Air 260 with a cool new mil-spec designation, chosen to replace the aging fleet of T-44C Pegasus aircraft. In similar fashion, those were King Air B90s, configured for training and observation throughout the multi engine training process.

Merlin Labs Teams With MIT Lincoln Laboratory on New TCAS

Merlin, an aviation technology working on developments for the future of automated flight, announced its partnership with MIT Lincoln Laboratory (LL) in the first step towards an operational next generation collision avoidance technology. This partnership will see the two organizations explore the commercial adoption of the Airborne Collision Avoidance System Xu (ACAS Xu) on unmanned aircraft systems. The partnership will focus on the initial integration and further implementation of the ACAS Xu software standard, RTCA DO-386, with the Merlin Pilot, allowing Merlin to deliver enhanced automated collision avoidance measures based on the outputs from ACAS Xu that exceed the standards of the National Airspace System.
