NBAA To Honor Flying Safety Award Recipients At 2008 Meeting

Eight Member Companies To Be Honored For 50+ Years Of Safe Flying

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) recently announced the recipients of the Association’s 2008 Flying Safety Awards Program. The award recipients will be formally recognized during NBAA's 61st Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando, FL, which will take place from Monday, October 6 to Wednesday, October 8.

This year, three NBAA Member Companies will receive the 50 Year Safe Flying Achievement Award, which recognizes NBAA Members that have flown 50 years or more without an accident. Ardenbrook, Inc. of Fremont, CA, Kimberly-Clark Corp. of Dallas, TX and Special Services Corp. of Greenville, SC will be recognized individually during an NBAA Awards Luncheon on Monday, October 6. Including this year's recipients, 60 NBAA Members have received this award since its inception in 1998.

Five NBAA Members will receive the prestigious 60 Year Safe Flying Achievement Award, which recognizes Members that have flown 60 years or more without an accident. Those companies are AK Steel Corp. of Hamilton, OH, Crow Executive Air, Inc. of Millbury, OH, Koch Industries, Inc. of Wichita, KS, Murphy Oil Corporation of El Dorado, AR and Zachry Industrial Incorporated of San Antonio, TX.

"NBAA applauds these businesses for their continued emphasis on ensuring safety in their operations," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "Safety is the industry's highest priority, and in this area, these companies have set an example for others to follow."

Established in 1953, the NBAA Flying Safety Awards have brought worldwide recognition to the excellent safety record of business aviation. The awards also are testimony to the high degree of professionalism inherent in business aircraft operations, and to the skill, ability and dedication of management, maintenance, support service and pilot teams. The awards provide NBAA Members with well-earned recognition for exceptional achievement in maintaining safe flying operations.
