AOPA Expo '04: Have Fun And Learn Something

AOPA Expo 2004 Is Also About Learning

When the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association's AOPA Expo 2004 gets under way October 21-23 in Long Beach (CA), visitors will be able to take part in more than 75 hours of informative, fun, eye-opening seminars.

"AOPA Expo is about much more than the newest aircraft or the latest gadget — although that's a big part of the fun," said AOPA President Phil Boyer. "Education — making better, safer pilots and owners — is also a central part of our yearly convention."

The AOPA Air Safety Foundation will unveil its newest safety seminar, "Weather Wise: Practical Tips and Tactical Tricks," billed as the first seminar to offer truly practical weather advice to pilots. ASF will also host several other of its popular live safety seminars, including "GPS: Beyond 'Direct-To,'" "Maneuvering Flight," and "The Ups and Downs of Takeoffs and Landings."

With such a wide variety of seminars to choose from, AOPA has grouped the seminars into six convenient tracks: Aviation General Interest; Proficient Pilots; All Pilots; Medical Issues; Safety; and Ownership. Visitors can follow a single track or skip around, attending the seminars that interest them.

A complete list of seminars is available online.

The AOPA Expo Web page once again offers the "Design My Own AOPA Expo Schedule" feature. By checking off all of the seminars and events they plan to attend, visitors can print out a personalized itinerary.

With more than 400,000 members, representing nearly two thirds of all pilots in the United States, AOPA is the largest, most influential aviation association in the world. AOPA has achieved its prominent position through effective advocacy, enlightened leadership, technical competence, and hard work. Providing member services that range from representation at the federal, state, and local levels to legal services, advice, and other assistance, AOPA has built a service organization that is without peer to any other in the aviation community.
