Dubai Airshow Announces Edge As First Ever Advanced Technology Partner

Newly Launched Conglomerate Will Have Impressive Presence

Edge, the advanced technology conglomerate that launched yesterday in Abu Dhabi, will be the largest individual presence exhibiting at the Dubai Airshow 2019. Integrating over 25 entities from Emirates Defence Industries Company, Emirates Advanced Investments Group, Tawazun Holding, and other independent organisations, Edge will be the first ever Advanced Technology Partner of the Dubai Airshow in its 30-year history.

Technology has always been a national priority for the UAE and Edge has been established to build on this effort to significantly develop the country’s technology leadership, globally. Starting with break-through innovations in the high investment sector of defence, and a priority on national security needs, Edge has longer-term plans to transform a wide breadth of industries through technology spinoffs.

With the biggest pavilion at the Dubai Airshow, Edge is set to showcase the capabilities of 11 subsidiary companies: ADASI, AMMROC, Al Tariq, Beacon Red, EARTH, EPI, ETS, GAL, Halcon, Horizon and Jaheziya. Edge will be investing extensively across R&D to develop technologies with transformational impact, and a state-of-the-art ‘Future Lab’ will project some of these advanced solutions and research areas of focus through a series of holographic displays.

Edge is attracting exceptional talent and nurturing critical thinkers of tomorrow, and will have young innovators from the Emirates Foundation’s Think Science Program showcasing their scientific inventions and projects in aerospace from the Edge pavilion on day one of the Dubai Airshow.

The company plans to leverage its partnership with the Dubai Airshow to raise its profile in the global aerospace industry and meet with partners to forge and strengthen strategic relationships for the future.

“Technology is drastically changing the aerospace industry, and Edge is taking significant strides to respond with agile, bold and disruptive solutions - bringing products to market faster and more efficiently,” said His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai, CEO and Managing Director, Edge.

“With Air Force and Air Defence being key areas of focus for militaries, we are invested in reimagining aviation capabilities and supporting its unprecedented growth and development, through technology exploration in areas such as autonomous vehicles, cyber-physical systems, advanced propulsion systems and robotics, with a focus on artificial intelligence across our products and services. The Dubai Airshow gives us an opportunity to deepen our strategic relationships within the aerospace industry."

The Dubai Airshow has always responded to changes in the market and been the place for the industry to launch products and present innovations, along with networking and building business relationships. With its forward-thinking disruptive capabilities, Edge is the ideal Advanced Technology Partner for the event.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Edge as the first Advanced Technology Partner of the Dubai Airshow,” says Michele van Akelijen, Managing Director of show organisers Tarsus F&E LLC Middle East. “The aerospace industry is a key enabler for economic growth, and Edge is leveraging the full breadth of opportunities in order to position itself as a notable global player in advanced technology.”

The Dubai Airshow 2019 takes place at DWC, Dubai Airshow Site from November 17 – 21 November.
