Charter Co-Pilot Arrested Prior To Flight

Blood Alcohol Level Was Measured At 0.30

A pilot with Talon Air noticed that there was something very wrong with his assigned co-pilot for a flight from Michigan to Massachusetts last Thursday.

The pilot, Captain Manny Ramirez, called police, and the co-pilot, who has not been named, was arrested. A breathalyzer test showed he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.30, which is nearly four times the legal limit for drunken driving.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Talon Air praised its pilot for his actions. "This is yet another example of Talon Air's safety procedures working effectively on behalf of our clients and for airport safety," the company said.

The co-pilot was "immediately terminated."
