CTS Engines Acquires 12 CF6-80 Engines

Models Include Both CF6-80A And CF6-80C2A5 Engine Types

CTS Engines has completed the acquisition through an affiliate of 12 CF6-80 engines from a major U.S. carrier. The acquired engines include nine CF6-80A and three CF6-80C2A5 models. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“The acquisition of these engines, which are critical to the long-term operational success of our most important customers, further cements CTS’s position as a leader in the mature engine industry,” said Brian Neff, CTS’s Chief Executive Officer. “These engines, which will be used as teardowns and short-term spares in support of our customers’ shop visits, directly improve CTS’s already outstanding value proposition within the industry.”

Based in Ft. Lauderdale, CTS Engines performs engine overhauls on the CF6-50, CF6-80A, CF6-80C, and PW2000 engine models at its 70,000 square foot Ft. Lauderdale MRO facilities. At its 155,000 lbf test stand in Jupiter, FL, the company also performs mature engine return to service tests, as well as OEM developmental tests for new engine platforms.
