LSA Training Business Opens In Jacksonville, FL

Couple Established Business After 48-State Tour In A J-3 Cub

By David Juwell

It was not unusual years ago, when you wanted to get a Private Pilot’s license, to have to go through different instructors over the course of your training, all of them with a fresh CFI rating trying to build hours for a coveted corporate or airline job. Being a flight instructor was simply a means to an end.

Today, a young couple has raised the bar. They are Meredith and Dana Holladay. They are both CFI’s, have over 11,000 hours between them, and they have no desire to fly corporately or to drive a tube of humans, all scrunched up, through the skies. They are solidly focused on creating general aviation pilots, starting with a recently-established LSA program at Jacksonville Executive Airport at Craig Field (KCRG) in Jacksonville, FL, and then progressing through almost any endorsement you desire. They have a good business head too, having broken even in their business in just three months. They are conducting flight training in a Rans S-19 Venterra that, according to their website, they acquired last month.

A startling fact about them is that they once took a J-3 Cub, toured around the United States for seven weeks, landing in all 48 states along the way, and she became pregnant half way through the trip. Obviously they have the tenacity to finish what they start…and that’s the inspiration, motivation and expertise they’ll bring to you as you strive to fulfill the dream of flight you’ve always had.
