Allows Installation Of Rotax Engine, MT-Propeller
EASA has granted an STC to MT-Propeller Entwicklung for the engine and propeller conversion of the Diamond DV20 (EASA-A439) and DA20 (EASA.IM.A223).
The STC includes a kit for the engine conversion to the Rotax 912iSc3 Sport injection engine, the propeller conversion to the MT-Propeller MTV-21-A / 170-05 or MTV-21-A / 175-05 constant speed propeller incl. full composite Spinner and the installation of a EMU 912iS Engine Monitoring Unit.
The company says the conversion to 912iS Katana:
- Reduces fuel consumption by about one gallon/hour of MoGas
- Increases range to approx. 5 hours at 2260rpm and 22inHg)
- Reduces ground roll distance by 180 feet on asphalt, and increases performance with the MT-Propeller and Rotax 912iS engine by 7-10kts
The company adds that it anticipates that the value of the aircraft will increase with the "state-of-the-art" engine.
The propeller "provides best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operations," according to the company. It comes with a stainless steel propeller leading edge for best erosion protection of the blades, and provides Highest noise level fullfilled with the 170-05 blades and the exhaust muffler according to the strict German noise regulations 2010 –“Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung” for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European Countries.
It is constructed of FOD repairable lightweight natural composite MT-Propeller blades with unlimited Propeller blade life.
The conversion also includes an upgraded Engine Monitoring Unit Display with advanced pilot features.
The installation will be performed by HB-Flugtechnik
