FAA Conducting GPS Interference Testing This Week

Tests Will Be Centered Off The Jacksonville, FL Coast Beginning July 10

The FAA will be conducting GPS interference testing in conjunction with the Navy's Carrier Strike Group CSG4 off the coast of Jacksonville, FL July 10 - 22.

The FAA has issued a NOTAM outlining the dates, times and scope of the testing. It will be centered on CRG VOR 072 degree radial at 63 nautical miles. The testing will be conducted as follows:

- 10 Jul 19 1200Z – 1900Z
- 11 Jul 19 1500Z – 2100Z
- 12 Jul 19 2230Z – 2359Z
- 13 Jul 19 0000Z – 0130Z 2230Z – 2359Z
- 14 Jul 19 0000Z – 0130Z
- 15 Jul 19 1100Z – 1900Z
- 17 – 19 Jul 19 1200Z – 1500Z
- 20 – 22 Jul 19 1700Z – 2300Z

Each event may last the entire requested period.

NAV GPS (CSG4 GPS 19-02) (including WAAS, GBAS, and ADS-B) may not be available within a 400 nm radius centered at 304514N/0802321W

  • (CRG072063) FL400-UNL,
  • 352NM Radius AT FL250,
  • 286NM Radius AT 10000FT,
  • 241NM Radius AT 4000FT AGL,
  • 180NM Radius AT 50FT AGL.

Pilots are encouraged to report anomalies in accordance with The Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM).
