CAF Wins Dallas City Council Approval For Aviation Attraction

Body Voted 14-0 To Greenlight The Project

The Commemorative Air Force is poised to break ground on what it says will be a "world-class aviation attraction" following a 14-0 vote by the Dallas City Council Wednesday.

Writing on the CAF blog, Stephan Brown, President/CEO of the Commemorative Air Force, called the vote "a big day in the history of the CAF."

"It has been a long two years that this metamorphosis has taken place - from the initial board decision to make the move, to the 23 cities that so graciously bid for us - and the final selection of Dallas Executive Airport," Brown wrote. 'More than ever I am convinced that this is the best location for us and the most welcoming. The community has been overwhelmingly supportive, as evidenced by the kind words of many City Council members and the unanimous votes in favor of the economic incentives both last month and today."

The next phase is to design, and then build the CAF's new facility. " I look forward to having a CAF National Airbase that is centrally located and is of such a presence that all members will feel proud of their CAF Headquarters," Brown said.
