Tempest, has filled ANN
in on its recent sponsorship of Kirby Chambliss and our good friend
(and fellow Rocket Racer) Sean D. Tucker
for 2006.
Chambliss is captain of the U.S. Aerobatic Team and he is a rare
five-time winner of the National Aerobatic Championship. His most
recent championship was this year in Denison, TX and means he will
lead the USA Unlimited Aerobatic Team in the 2007 world
championships in Spain. Kirby is one of only two pilots to have won
the national championship five times.
Chambliss flies the Red Bull Edge 540 in many air shows
throughout the year. He can also be seen as one of the ten pilots
competing in the Red Bull Air Race World Series. Chambliss placed
3rd overall in the 2005 series and vows to lock down the 2006
championship which starts in April.
Sean D. Tucker was the 1988 U.S. National Advanced Aerobatic
Champion and has been honored with numerous awards throughout his
career. Among them, the prestigious Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship
Award and the Bill Barber Award for Air Show Showmanship. In 2003
he was named one of the 25 "Living Legends of Flight" by the
Smithsonian Air & Space Museum.
Since beginning his air show career in the mid-70's, Tucker has
flown more than 2000 performances at more than 500 air shows. In
2006, Tucker and Team Oracle will entertain nearly 10 million fans
at 25 air shows throughout North America.
Chambliss and Tucker will make appearances throughout the year
on behalf of Tempest to promote their current line of general
aviation products. They will also play a key role in launching and
promoting new products, such as Tempest's new spin-on oil
filter.
John Herman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Tempest
stated, "We are very pleased and excited to have these two
extremely talented performers representing our company. We look
forward to a longstanding partnership."
