Global 5000 Interior To Benefit From Unique 3D Solid-Modeling
Software Developed By Tulsa Firm
Executive Aircraft Completions, an interior design engineering
firm in Tulsa, OK, says it will support Midcoast Aviation's
interior completions efforts for the Bombardier Global 5000 long
range business jet. The contract also licenses Midcoast to use
EAC's new PERMIT proprietary 3D solid-modeling engineering
software.
EAC will supplement Midcoast's extensive engineering staff and
train Midcoast engineers in the use of PERMIT software for ongoing
completion design and engineering. PERMIT is a parametric 'virtual'
completion program which reduces both aircraft down-time and module
interference errors by designing, engineering and virtual-fitting
the entire completion in three dimensions before fabrication or
installation takes place. As a result, all components and systems
fit first time with significantly reduced in-cabin re-work.
Component and module weights and finished quality are also
optimized through the use of EAC's PERMIT software. The EAC
software also computes complete lists of materials for each
component. The benefits will be increased efficiency and reduced
downtime.
"We are very impressed with EAC engineering services and PERMIT
software," said Kurt Sutterer (above, with Ken Goldsmith and Rick
Richardson), Midcoast president. "We're confident their support
will help us maintain and enhance our high standards for quality,
value and completion time. EAC is a valuable member of our
team."
"We are privileged to be associated with one of the industry's
most respected completion and modification centers, with a
longstanding and excellent reputation for completing Bombardier
business jets. We look forward to supporting Midcoast Aviation as
they seek to enhance their offering to the completions industry,"
said Ken Goldsmith, president of EAC's parent company, Yankee
Pacific.
EAC's vice-president and general manager, Rick Richardson, noted
that the close working relationship with Midcoast has already
benefited both companies. "We are well underway with meeting our
engineering deliverables for the first Midcoast Global 5000 and
assisting them with the integration of our innovative PERMIT
software. We anticipate continued support of Midcoast on future
projects."
