Lindbergh Foundation Names John King Chairman Of The Board

Called "One Of The Most Recognizable Figures In Aviation"

The Lindbergh Foundation formally announced this week John King, co-chairman of King Schools, Inc. has been elected to serve as chairman of the group's board of directors.

"John King is one of the most recognizable figures in aviation," said Knox Bridges, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation. "King Schools has been the industry leader in pilot training since its inception. From gliders to jets, King Schools has trained pilots from around the world and John King’s efforts in the area of risk management for pilots is legendary. The Lindbergh Foundation is pleased to have John serve as our Chairman and appreciates the leadership and management skills he brings to the organization."

Together with his wife, Martha, John King owns and operates King Schools, Inc. For more than a decade, they have used their clear, simple and fun video training courses to teach nearly half of the new private and instrument pilots in the United States.

A graduate from Indiana University, King holds every class and category of pilot and instructor rating offered by the FAA. He works with the FAA’s National Aviation Safety Program in producing safety videos, appears frequently on national television as an aviation expert, and received the 2004 "Excellence in Pilot Training" award from the National Air Transportation Association.

The Lindbergh Foundation is a public non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to support great innovations that foster the environment toward a planet in balance. The Lindbergh Foundation pursues its mission through grants, awards, and educational projects.
