ANN’s NBAA coverage crew is finally back in their respective homes after surviving the wilds of Las Vegas and the US air transportation system... if you want to know why we prefer GA and Business aviation, just take a trip on today’s airlines.
NBAA 2019 was a stunning event... much more newsworthy and positive in scope than in recent years. Despite a rumor mill that left few secrets in the last days before the event, NBAA-BACE 2019 had more than its share of serious news... starting with Gulfstream’s lavish and lively unveiling of the massive G-700, new upgrades for the Bombardier line including serious range increases, a huge order for Embraer to the tune of $1.4 Billion aero-bucks, the showing of Tecnam’s new piston airliner -- the high-tech P2012 Traveller, more progress updates for the Dassault Falcon 6X, the confirmation of the Daher Kodiak deal... A three-judge Beijing court rendered a unanimous verdict dismissing every one of the defamation claims made by Ninety-Nines China Governor “Saki” Chen Jingxian against global circumnavigation record-holder Wang Zheng. The three-judge panel refused to grant Chen the injunctive and compensatory relief requested by the complaint and refused to censure any of the
statements that the Ninety Nines China Governor had challenged as infringing her reputation, including Wang’s statement that Chen’s 2016 flight around the world was a “fake flight.” Boeing says it has made significant progress over the past several months in support of safely returning the 737 MAX to service as the company continues to work with the FAA and other global regulators on the process laid out for certifying the 737 MAX software and related training updates. The company has also made significant governance and operational changes to further sharpen its focus. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
