Falconbridge Mining 737-200 Is FuelMizer Launch Customer
AvAero’s FuelMizer
modification, receives Transport Canada approval. Transport Canada
now joins the approvals of the United States FAA, EASA (European
Union/JAA), Australia, New Zealand and soon to be China’s,
CAAC.
In conjunction with Transport Canada’s approval,
Falconbridge Mining completed installation of the first Boeing
737-200 FuelMizer modification. Falconbridge Mining has completely
renovated its newest addition to their fleet, a B737-200 Combi, at
Ontario Flightcraft, Mount Hope, Canada.
Falconbridge Director of Flight Operations, Bob Lierschaft said
"We were impressed with the AvAero B737-200 Hushkit being installed
on our aircraft. When we learned about AvAero’s new FuelMizer
modification and its 4% fuel savings, it made perfect sense to
install this modification while the aircraft was in heavy check.
The FuelMizer is the only modification to our aircraft that
actually saves money without operational flight changes."
Appropriately called, FuelMizer,
AvAero engineering designed, developed, flight tested and
manufactured a modification that will save operators tens of
thousands of dollars a year. The FuelMizer’s patented
aerodynamic system is designed to assist our industry’s
financial recovery and operators can expect to save over 100,000
gallons of fuel per year per aircraft.
The FuelMizer modification does not require structural
alterations. There are no systems maintenance, nor operational
changes; and is penalty free. By changing specific parts and
repositioning certain wing flight controls, AvAero is able to offer
a modification that can be installed in 200 – 250 man-hours.
FAA approved flight tests have verified an average fuel savings of
4% plus.
