Aeroflot Ready To Fake It With Airbus Sim

New A320 Flight Simulator To Be Installed For Aeroflot

Aeroflot is about to start training new A320 pilots in a simulated way. In the scope of the co-operation agreement between Airbus, Aeroflot and CAE, Aeroflot will receive a new full flight simulator for the A320. The state-of-the-art simulator, equipped with CAE Tropos visualization system will be installed in the Aeroflot Training Centre by the end of 2003.

The A320 simulator will be used to train A319 and A320 flight crews from Aeroflot but the agreement between Aeroflot and CAE enables other airlines to use it as well on a subcontracting basis.

The agreement also offers the additional possibility to provide Aeroflot with the IPT A320 simulator with incorporated CAE Simfinity technology to improve the ground training of Aeroflot flight crews and help them gain knowledge of aircraft systems and equipment.

The Aeroflot Training Centre is the largest training facility in the CIS and Baltic States. Aeroflot, the largest Russian carrier, which flies to 54 countries worldwide, is to receive 18 new A319s and A320s as part of its fleet renewal plan.
