ZHU ...SPECIAL NOTICE... EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. JOINT TASK FORCE (JTF) RITA AIRSPACE CONTROL PLAN (ACP, GALVESTON JOINT OPERATIONS AREA PROCEDURES ARE IN EFFECT. ASSESSMENT, SEARCH, RESCUE, RECOVERY AND RECONSTITUTION OPERATIONS ARE IN EFFECT IN THE FEMA- DELCARED DISASTER AREA ALONG THE GULF COAST OF TEXAS AND LOUISIANA. RITA GALVESTON JOA: 310000N/0960000W, 310000N/0920000W, 280000N/0920000W, 280000N/0960000W SURFACE UP TO BUT NOT INCLUDING 5000 MSL. THIS ACP IS DIRECTIVE FOR ALL DOD FLIGHT ASSETS AND PARTICIPATION FOR NON-DOD AIRCRAFT IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. PILOTS NOT PARTICIPATING IN FEMA OPERATIONS ARE ADVISED TO AVOID THE AIRSPACE ABOVE DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF BOTH ROTARY AND FIXED WING AIRCRAFT.
