The Aerostars Receive A New Name And Will Serve As Brand Ambassadors
Phillips 66 Lubricants announces their sponsorship of the Phillips 66 Aerostars, a precision aerobatic demo team who have been known to captivate air show audiences throughout the Midwest. The aerobatics team, previously known as the Aerostars, are officially being renamed and rebranded as the “Phillips 66 Aerostars.” The 3- member pilot team made up of Harvey Meek, David Monroe and Paul Hornick is growing to include a fourth member, Gerry Molidor. The team is representing Phillips 66 Lubricants at eight air shows in 2017.
For more than a decade the Phillips 66 Aerostars have dazzled audiences with formation aerobatics, including day and night performances. Highlights of their talents include tight formation loops and barrel rolls–flown at distances no more than three feet from each other–as well as the team‘s signature maneuvers like the heart in the sky, the twinkie roll and the flip and flop.
The Phillips 66 Aerostars are proud supporters of Phillips 66 Lubricants, using Phillips 66 X/C Aviation Oil in their Yak 52TW planes and Phillips 66 Shield motor oil in their personal vehicles. They will serve as official Phillips 66 Lubricants brand ambassadors to automotive enthusiasts, private pilots, aircraft owners, aircraft mechanics and Young Eagles pilots who represent the next generation of flyers.
“Phillips 66 oils and fuels are products we believe in; we were convincing pilots to use Phillips 66 aviation oil even prior to our partnership,” said Left Wing Pilot, Paul Hornick. “Phillips 66 relies on knowledgeable, engaged and enthusiastic ambassadors that are proven leaders in their field,” said Phillips 66 Brand Director, Phil Sontag. “The Phillips 66 Aerostars pilots are among the best in their field and we are thrilled to expand our partnership with them to include an official ambassadorship role.”
